Grade 1.1 Trail Run

From the quaint village of Vilaflor, we head onto the old camino pathway — a historic route once used by shepherds and traders. We climb into the Corona Forest towards the Paisaje Lunar, a striking area of sedimentary rock formations with beautiful views. This hike is stunning, and the forest is peaceful with an incredible scent. The trail is rocky, but with plenty of stops, it’s both manageable and enjoyable!

From the historic village of Vilaflor, we follow the ancient trading road Camino de Trevejos into the beautiful Corona Forest, where we can enjoy the scent of pine trees and the ascent to Montaña de la Vica. The views in this unique environment are stunning as we journey deeper into the forest, which opens up to reveal Montaña de las Lajas, El Sombrero, and Roque del Almendro. We continue our climb towards Las Lajas before beginning our descent back to Vilaflor de Chasna. This trail is wonderfully peaceful, and the sunrise views make the early start well worth it!


Grade 2 Trails

Moderate

For those with off-road experience looking for a rewarding challenge at a comfortable pace. These routes follow well-established trails that are dry, rocky, technical, and undulating.

After a beautiful drive through the national park, we begin our hike from El Portillo. It’s not long before Mount Teide comes into view. This trail is a feast for the eyes, with photo stops an absolute must. We ascend Montaña Blanca and loop back past Montaña de los Tomillos. The views, the silence, and the uniqueness of this environment will leave you wanting to do it all again.

Setting off from Vilaflor de Chasna, we follow the Paisaje Lunar trail before ascending through a beautiful, peaceful valley that’s truly breathtaking. To our right, Montaña Guajara looms overhead. We then arrive at a stunning viewpoint overlooking Teide and the Ucanca Valley. From there, we traverse the ridgeline to El Sombrero (2405m) and descend towards the road, crossing over onto the Las Lajas trails, which lead us back to Vilaflor de Chasna.


Grade 3 Trails

Challenging

These routes are ideal for experienced trail runners looking to test themselves — perfect preparation for races and long-distance challenges. Trails are well-established but dry, rocky, and steep in places, with elevations reaching up to 3555 metres.

These routes are designed for experienced trail runners and hikers who can comfortably cover 20km or more off-road, carrying a pack with at least 2 litres of water and essential gear for several hours on the trail.

From the Parador de Las Cañadas del Teide, we head towards the statuesque Roques de García. With views in every direction, we ascend to Pico Viejo, continuing on to the Mirador de Pico Viejo, El Cráter de la Rambleta, and then to Mirador de La Fortaleza. We descend past Montaña Blanca — a section that’s smooth and runnable — and soon reach the road, crossing over into what locals call 'The Badlands' as we return to the Parador. This route is challenging, but it's the ultimate Teide National Park tour!

Grade 3.2 Trail Run

This incredible circular loop begins in Vilaflor, where we set off straight onto the trails leading towards Paisaje Lunar and through the serene Corona Forest. The climb intensifies as we traverse a unique volcanic plain, ascending towards Montaña Guajara. Before reaching the summit, we’ll take a detour to an outstanding viewpoint overlooking the national park.

From the heights of Montaña Guajara, we follow the ridgeline to El Sombrero, then descend along a well-established trail to Las Lajas, which leads us back down to Vilaflor. This is a challenging run—some climbs will require hiking at your own pace—but we’ll take plenty of stops to soak in the spectacular views!
